Today, we focus on checking the temperature of foreign and local workers.Painan, W Sumatra (ANTARA) - The authorities in South Pesisir District of West Sumatra Province tested 61 Chinese workers, employed in a project to build a micro-hydro power plant in the Ranah Pesisir Sub-district, for coronavirus.
“Today, we focus on checking the temperature of foreign and local workers," said chief of Public Relations and Protocol Affairs of the South Pesisir District Government, Rinaldi, in Ranah Pesisir on Thursday.
The hydro power project is employing 61 Chinese workers and 125 local workers.
“As per the results of the checkup, the body temperature of the foreign and local workers ranged from 35 to 36 degrees Celsius. Overall, they were declared virus-free," he said.

He further asked officials overseeing the management of the project to take workers to a nearby health service post if they complain of fever, cough, or shortness of breath.
Chen, personnel manager of PT Guanxi, which is implementing the project, said he welcomed the decision to conduct the medical checkups as it would help the company ascertain the health of employees.
He said the company has not employed any more Chinese workers since November, 2019 due to the coronavirus outbreak in China.
The company has also advised employees to refrain from traveling to urban areas, as a precautionary measure, he added. (INE)
