"Based on the protocol and standard operating procedures (SOP), city residents arriving from outside the city, another region, or a foreign country will be directed to Wisma Nusantara as they would belong to the group of people under surveillance (ODP)," chief of the Mataram City Communication and Information Office I, Nyoman Swandiasa, said on Monday.
Swandiasa, who is a member of the Mataram City COVID-19 Task Force, made the remarks in response to a report about 32,192 Indonesian migrant workers being repatriated from COVID-19-affected countries.
He said some of the Indonesian migrant workers are believed to hail from Mataram City.
Shortly after the migrant workers arrive at Wisma Nusantara, the COVID-19 Response Task Force will conduct medical checks on them, he continued.
If the migrant workers show no symptoms of COVID-19, they will be allowed to return home, where they will undergo self-isolation under the surveillance of the local public health service for 14 days.
“But, those who complain about or show signs of COVID-19 will be placed in isolation rooms at the hospital," he said.
