Jakarta (ANTARA) - Governor of DKI Jakarta Province, Anies Baswedan, on Wednesday officially extended large-scale social restrictions (PSBB) in the city by another 28 days, in order to stem the spread of the novel coronavirus disease.

"We have decided to extend the implementation of the PSBB for another 28 days. The second round (of social restrictions) will begin on April 24 and will be effective until May 22, 2020," he announced at the City Hall on Wednesday.

The PSBB policy was first promulgated in DKI Jakarta on April 10, and was to be effective for a period of two weeks.
