Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Jakarta Health Office revealed that Jakarta had recorded 6,010 confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) as of Monday (May 18), with 1,301 people recovering and 483 other virus deaths.

The number of recoveries constituted 22 percent of the confirmed coronavirus cases, while the number of deaths represented eight percent, Head of the Health Resource Section of the Jakarta Health Office Ani Ruspitawati stated at the Jakarta City Hall on Monday.

"Meanwhile, 1,958 patients are still receiving medical treatment at hospitals, while 2,268 others are self-isolating at home," she remarked.

The Jakarta Provincial Task Force for the Acceleration of COVID-19 Handling also recorded a total of 9,646 asymptomatic people.

According to data from the Jakarta administration, the number of people under surveillance reached 10,226 of which 10,015 have undergone the surveillance process and 211 others are still under monitoring.

As many as 195 patients have recovered from COVID-19 in Indonesia on Monday, thereby taking the total count of recoveries to 4,324, government spokesperson for the handling of COVID-19, Achmad Yurianto, remarked.

"The number of patients dying (of COVID-19) has also increased by 43 to reach 1,191," he remarked at the National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) building in Jakarta on Monday.

Yurianto noted that the number of confirmed coronavirus cases had increased by 496 to reach 18,010. Meanwhile, 11,422 patients have been put under surveillance and 45,047 people have been placed under surveillance.

COVID-19 has spread to all 34 provinces in Indonesia, affecting 389 districts and municipalities in the country.

Overall, the government has tested 190,600 samples from 143,035 people, with 18,010 individuals testing positive for COVID-19, and the results of 125,025 others coming negative for the virus.
