Some 30 sub-districts are still in the black and also in the red. This translates to the fact that it is still difficult (to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic)
Bandung (ANTARA) - The Bandung city government in West Java took the decision to extend the period of applying large-scale social restrictions (PSBB) until May 29, as the city remains at high risk of further spread of COVID-19.

"Some 30 sub-districts are still in the black and also in the red. This translates to the fact that it is still difficult (to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic)," Bandung Mayor Oded M. Danial cautioned here on Tuesday.

Bandung City along with other regions, called Greater Bandung, have implemented PSBB from April 22 to May 5, 2020. Thereafter, the West Java provincial capital applied the PSBB at the provincial level that will end on May 20.

The Bandung city government has decided to extend the PSBB until May 29 and will continue to implement Bandung Mayor's Regulation No. 21 of 2020 on applying PSBB during the extended period of PSBB.

"The mayor's regulation remains the same as the old regulation. This means than nothing changes," he clarified.

During the enactment of PSBB, shopping centers and recreational sites are not allowed to operate.
