We are very thankful for the support. I believe the aid will help Indonesia overcome the COVID-19 (pandemic). Many other regions still need and run short of ventilators
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Bottled water producer Danone Indonesia donated Rp30 billion to the National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) on Monday to help the country in handling the COVID-19 pandemic.

"The assistance is part of Danone Indonesia's initiative and commitment to support the handling of the COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia through its main business units -- Danone-AQUA and Danone Specialized Nutrition Indonesia -- with a total assistance of Rp30 billion," Vice President/General Secretary of Danone Indonesia, Vera Galuh Sugijanto, noted in a written statement released on Tuesday.

In addition to cash, the aid covered four ventilators, 2,500 N95 masks, and 10 thousand surgery masks.

"We have cooperated with various parties to channel the assistance in the form of cash, personal protective equipment, ventilators, and Donane products sent to several hospitals treating COVID-19 patients in Indonesia. The aid was also directly distributed to people affected by the pandemic," she noted.

Danone Indonesia, along with the CSR Forum of Jakarta, presented the aid to BNPB Chief Doni Monardo.

"We are very thankful for the support. I believe the aid will help Indonesia overcome the COVID-19 (pandemic). Many other regions still need and run short of ventilators," Monardo noted.

The BNPB will later direct the assistance and other health facilities to those in dire need of it.
