Although the pandemic has not shown signs of improvement, we, along with KKKS (contractors of cooperation contract), have successfully implemented work programs in accordance with the target.We thank God that year-to-date oil and gas lifting in AugusAmbon,Maluku (ANTARA) - National oil lifting (ready-to-sell production) reached 706.9 thousand barrels of oil per day (bopd), as of August 31, 2020, constituting 100.3 percent of the 705 thousand bopd targeted in the revised state budget. Upstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Special Task Force (SKK Migas) reported about the achievement.
The realization was the outcome of hard work of all involved parties, acting chief of the SKK Migas Program and Communication Division Susana Kurnasih noted in a press statement released on Tuesday.
"Although the pandemic has not shown signs of improvement, we, along with KKKS (contractors of cooperation contract), have successfully implemented work programs in accordance with the target. We thank God that the year-to-date oil and gas lifting in August has outstripped the target," she stated.
In the remaining four months of this year, SKK Migas will channel its attention and efforts on risk mitigation to surmount over production obstacles, Kurnasih revealed.
"We will conduct an evaluation to gauge if the production operation job can be accelerated. Of course, we will also conduct risk mitigation to maintain the current level of oil lifting until the end of this year," she expounded.
SKK Migas also reported that gas distribution had reached 5,516 million standard cubic feet per day (mmscfd), representing 99.3 percent of the targeted 5,556 mmscfd set in the revised state budget.
"We witnessed better gas consumption in August than in the previous months. We are upbeat about gas consumption rising along with an improvement in the economy in the next few months," she stated.
In addition to focusing on the work programs in place, SKK Migas will also take optimum steps to ensure that the national oil and gas lifting target will be achieved," she noted.
"SKK Migas is in the midst of realizing six extraordinary efforts to ensure that the national oil and gas lifting target can be achieved, so we can optimally contribute to the state revenue during this difficult time," she stated.
