Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia's Task Force for COVID-19 Response on Tuesday reported that 2,306 COVID-19 patients recovered in the last 24 hours in the country, bringing the total number of recoveries to 142,958 so far.

The country added 3,046 fresh infections, which took the total COVID-19 case count to 200,035. Meanwhile, with 100 patients dying of the novel coronavirus disease, the death toll reached 8,230, the task force said here on Tuesday.

Jakarta recorded the highest spike in the number of recoveries at 929, and added 1,014 fresh cases and 21 deaths.

East Java province reported 342 new recoveries, 401 fresh cases, and 32 deaths.

The province of Central Java added 148 recoveries, 237 new cases, and six deaths.

The island of Bali recorded 114 new recoveries, 164 confirmed cases, and 12 deaths.

South Sulawesi reported that 100 COVID-19 patients recovered, 51 people tested positive for the virus, and one person succumbed to it in the province.

In North Sumatra province, 86 people made a complete recovery from COVID-19, 107 others contracted the virus, and 3 died.

West Java province recorded 76 new recoveries, 336 fresh cases, and 2 deaths.

Furthermore, eight provinces reported less than 10 new cases, and two provinces — Jambi and Central Kalimantan — recorded no fresh cases in 24 hours.

The COVID-19 Handling Task Force also recorded 90,952 suspected cases.

Coronavirus infections have spread to 489 districts and cities in the country's 34 provinces.

Meanwhile, as many as 32,643 specimens were examined on Tuesday, bringing the total number of specimens that have been examined, using both real-time PCR (polymerase chain reaction) and molecular rapid test (TCM), to 2,484,807 so far.
