The results show 10 people have tested positive for COVID-19.Kupang, E Nusa Tenggara (ANTARA) - Some 10 employees of the National Land Agency (BPN) Office in East Nusa Tenggara Province were exposed to the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) believed to have been transmitted from a patient succumbing to the infection.
The 10 employees were found to have contracted the virus after the Kupang City Task Force for COVID-19 Response conducted swab tests on 269 employees of the BPN Office, spokesman for the task force Ernest Ludji stated here on Friday.
"The results indicated that 10 people had tested positive for COVID-19," he revealed.
Meanwhile, the results of swab tests conducted on 259 samples had yet to be available.
"We are still awaiting the results of tests on hundreds of samples from the cluster of the BPN Office in East Nusa Tenggara," he stated.
Ludji remarked that the 10 BPN employees had once come in close contact with an official of the BPN Office, who died of COVID-19 on Tuesday, Sept 29, 2020.
Meanwhile, Head of the General Affairs and Information Section of the BPN Office in East Nusa Tenggara Wini remarked that her side had sprayed disinfectant in the office premises as a precautionary measure against the spread of COVID-19.
Offices have currently become one of the new clusters of COVID-19 transmission in Indonesia apart from health facilities, places of worship, and detention houses.
