While the number of new COVID-19 cases increased by 4,094 to reach 324,658, the death toll climbed by 97 to 11,677 as of 12 p.m. WIB (West Indonesia Standard Time) on Friday, according to data provided by the Task Force for COVID-19 Response.
Jakarta is still leading the number of recoveries, with 850 people recovering from the infection in the past 24 hours. However, the Indonesian capital has recorded 943 fresh cases and one death.
West Java is next with 563 recoveries. The province, however, has recorded 504 new infections and 2 deaths in a single day.
Meanwhile, East Java has recorded 306 recoveries, the third highest in the country, but reported 310 new cases and 20 deaths.
Central Java has reported 210 recoveries, 412 fresh cases, and 10 fatalities.
Meanwhile, the number of recoveries in East Kalimantan has reached 182, with 135 people testing positive for COVID-19 and 10 people dying of the infection.
West Sumatra has added 167 recoveries, 296 new cases, and 4 deaths, while North Sumatra has reported 164 recoveries, 95 new cases, and 2 deaths.
Two provinces have reported less than 10 new cases, while no new cases have been reported in the provinces of Riau Islands, Lampung, North Maluku, and Malaku.
The task force has so far recorded 149,114 suspected cases in 500 districts and cities in the country's 34 provinces.
Meanwhile, a total of 44,700 specimens were examined on Friday using real-time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and molecular rapid test (TCM) methods, bringing the total specimens analyzed so far to 3,683,808. (INE)
