Banda Aceh, Aceh (ANTARA) - Two people died in a fire that ravaged a two-storied house in the Aceh provincial capital of Banda Aceh on Saturday morning.

Chief of the Banda Aceh Fire Department Riza revealed that the fire, which erupted at 5:55 a.m. local time, arose from the furniture shop of the house.

The two people, who lost their lives in the fire, were identified as Riana Aceh from East Aceh and Zahara from Aceh Besar. They were students of the Fakinah Nursery Academy, who had rented rooms in the house.

They were found dead while firefighters attempted to put out the blaze, Riza revealed.

At least four fire trucks were sent to the scene to extinguish the fire.

The police are still investigating the cause of the fire.
