Jakarta (ANTARA) - Secretary General of the House of Representatives Indra Iskandar confirmed that the House was scheduled to send the final draft of the Job Creation Bill to President Joko Widodo on Wednesday.

"The Job Creation Bill will be sent (to the President)," he noted here on Wednesday.

Iskandar confirmed that 812 pages in the job creation bill had been through redactional editing.

Deputy Speaker of the House Azis Syamsuddin and Chairman of the House's Legislation Body Supratman Andi Agtas had earlier cleared the air over a confusion on the actual number of pages of the Job Creation Law.

Syamsuddin emphasized that the official Job Creation Law only contains 488 pages. However, combined with the number of pages expounding on the law, the total page count reaches 812.

"The Job Creation Law itself is only 488 pages, with the explanation (the total) reaches 812 pages," he noted during a press conference at the Indonesian Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Tuesday (October 13).

Syamsuddin explained that during discussion at the Work Committee on the Job Creation Bill, the paper margins were set at the usual size of A4.

When the draft was brought to the Secretariat General of the House, the margin requirements must follow the standards agreed upon by Law Number 12 of 2011 on the Formation of Legislative Regulations, which means the paper margins were then changed to the legal size.

Such explanation was expected to lend clarity to the House's Secretary General Iskandar's earlier statement, quoted by the mass media, which said the Job Creation Law contains 1,035 pages.

Syamsuddin had immediately called the Indonesian Parliament’s secretary general to confirm the news, to which Iskandar elaborated on the technical procedures mentioned earlier.
