Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia added 2,853 new COVID-19 cases and 3,968 recoveries on Monday, which took the total case tally to 440,569 and number of recoveries to 372,266, according to the Task Force for COVID-19 Response.

With 75 patients succumbing to the coronavirus in 24 hours, the death toll reached 14,689.

On Monday, the country recorded 53,614 active cases, or patients undergoing treatment at hospitals and conducting self isolation, while the number of suspected cases was pegged at 57,925.

A total of 34,365 specimens from 24,747 persons were examined in 426 laboratories across Indonesia as of Monday. A total of 4,824,389 specimens from 3,105,465 persons have been examined since the country reported its first confirmed COVID-19 case in March, 2020.

COVID-19 cases have been reported in all 34 provinces in the country.

Five provinces reported a high number of new cases on Monday, with Jakarta recording 716 cases, Central Java 619 cases, West Java 330 cases, East Java 234 cases, and West Sumatra 126 cases.

Jakarta still led in terms of the cumulative number of people testing positive for COVID-19 with 112,743 cases. While 102,831 of the patients made a full recovery, 2,377 succumbed to the infection.

Meanwhile, the four provinces of Bangka Belitung, West Kalimantan, Central Sulawesi, and Papua reported no new cases on Monday.
