In general, the movement of IHSG today was affected by the (positive) sentiments over the Biden effect, though it has slightly eased
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Jakarta Composite Index (IHSG) ended higher on Friday despite pressures on trade as positive global cues lifted investor sentiment.

“In general, the movement of IHSG today was affected by the (positive) sentiments over the Biden effect, though it has slightly eased, and the COVID-19 vaccine of Pfizer plus BioNtech, and Sputnik, which (Russia has claimed) is over 75-percent effective,” Bina Artha Sekuritas analyst M Nafan Aji Gusta Utama said.

The other external sentiment was the improving economic performance of developed countries, he added.

"The market is optimistic about the performance of the European region, which has begun to be positive, so it added to the IHSG's strengthening," he explained.

After opening lower, the IHSG spent much of its time in the negative territory until the close of trade.
