Cikarang, Bekasi (ANTARA) - The district COVID-19 task force confirmed that massive testing for COVID-19 conducted on the weekend on 32 workers in Bekasi District, West Java, yielded positive result for the presence of novel coronavirus.

"Of some two thousand workers partaking in massive testing, 32 workers have tested positive (for COVID-19)," spokesman for the district COVID-19 task force Alamsyah stated here on Wednesday.

"Those declared positive (for COVID-19) showed no symptoms before taking the test. Hence, we take them to an integrated (self-) isolation place," he remarked.

In total, 77 workers were declared positive for COVID-19 based on results of massive testing held at the MM2100 industrial estate in Danau Indah Village, West Cikarang Sub-district, Bekasi District.

However, 45 of these workers came from outside Bekasi District, he revealed.

"They are the residents of Jakarta, Karawang District and Bekasi City," he noted.

The massive testing is the first phase of tests to be conducted on 12 thousand workers in industrial estates in Bekasi District. (INE)
