The success of bureaucratic reform is vastly determined by human resources (HR), who are superior and have integrity. Those are urgently needed as the agents of change for progress
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Vice President Ma'ruf Amin affirmed that state civil apparatus, with superiority and integrity, have become the key to the success of simplifying Indonesian bureaucracy.

"The success of bureaucratic reform is vastly determined by human resources (HR), who are superior and have integrity. Those are urgently needed as the agents of change for progress," Vice President Amin stated at the Integrity Zone Appreciation and Award Ceremony held virtually from Jakarta on Monday.

Bureaucratic reform is a pillar that determines the success of the vision for Advanced Indonesia, for which the government remains committed to strengthening and expediting the simplification of bureaucracy across ministries, non-ministerial government agencies, and local governments.

"We need to continue to strengthen steps and expand the scope of the integrity zone as well as create clean governance, optimal public services, reliable and accountable bureaucratic capacity, and professional human resources," he remarked.

The successful implementation of bureaucratic reform must also be supported by serious efforts in creating an integrity zone towards a Corruption-Free Area (WBK) and a Clean Serving Bureaucratic Area (WBBM).

To this end, the vice president has encouraged government agencies and work units that had yet to secure the WBK and WBBM titles to improve and enhance their performance.

"I request to continue to improve and try to catch up and fix any shortcomings," he emphasized.

The vice president also lauded the implementation of the Awards of the Integrity Zone towards the 2020 WBK and WBBM organized regularly near the commemoration of World Anti-Corruption Day.

"This activity is held close to the commemoration of World Anti-Corruption Day that falls on December 9. This is the right moment to remind us all to always uphold the integrity of government institutions," he added.
