Fighting and eradicating corruption in the bureaucratic sector is not an easy task, but continuous efforts should be consistently made.
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Minister Tjahjo Kumolo echoed the government's commitment to realizing accountable and transparent governance by establishing the Electronic-based Governance System (SPBE) and Integrity Zone (ZI).

“The ZI is a predicate given to ministries/agencies (K/L) and local governments that are committed to creating a Free-Corruption Working Zone (WBK) and Accountable Service Zone (WBBM) by preventing corruption, reforming bureaucracy, and improving public service quality,” he noted in his statement received here on Monday.

The minister remarked that in 2020, as many as 763 working units across Indonesia had achieved the predicate of ZI.

“Out of the figure, 681 units were awarded as WBK, while the remaining 82 units were established as WBBM,” he stated.

The minister has relentlessly encouraged all civil servants to serve as role models for the public to prevent corruption in every institution.

“Fighting and eradicating corruption in the bureaucratic sector is not an easy task, but continuous efforts should be consistently made,” he remarked.

Kumolo assessed that the implementation of ZI had run well. However, he was optimistic that all institutions would improve their performance to obtain the predicates, so that the number of integrity zones could increase.

“Establishment of the ZI is still in progress. In fact, huge obstacles are faced in the port sector since the service units have not been integrated,” he pointed out.

Hence, he urged all civil servants, especially those engaged in the port sector, to immediately implement the integrity zone to eliminate any unaccountable practice and lengthy procedure in offering public service.

Meanwhile, the SPBE is a governance management system that utilizes communication and informatics technology as stipulated in Presidential Regulation Number 95 of 2018 that aims to establish clean, transparent, and accountable governance, as well as a quality and trusted public service.
