Jakarta (ANTARA) - The devout congregating at the Jakarta Cathedral Church to attend the Christmas 2020 Mass face-to-face underwent temperature checks before gaining entry into the premises through the Love Gate.

Based on an observation, Friday, temperature checks were conducted by the church's internal security officers, while several military and police members were on guard around the church.

There was no visible concentration of people or crowds since the Cathedral Church restricted the number of congregants attending the Christmas Mass in person.

Security posts of the Central Jakarta Police for the Christmas 2020 and New Year 2021 are on standby in front of the Istiqlal Mosque, located opposite the Cathedral Church.

Several tactical vehicles of the Police have also been parked on the road between the Cathedral Church and Istiqlal Mosque as a precautionary measure against likely security disturbances.

The Cathedral holds the Christmas Mass thrice, one being online while two are face-to-face. The online Christmas Mass is held at 9:00 Western Indonesian Time (WIB), while the face-to-face Christmas Mass is scheduled at 11:00 WIB and 17:00 WIB.
