Alhamdulillah, I thank God for this negative result of the COVID-19 test.
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Chief of the COVID-19 Handling Task Force Doni Monardo has recovered from COVID-19 and tested negative for the virus after conducting self-isolation for 20 days.

"Alhamdulillah, I thank God for this negative result of the COVID-19 test. Thank you to all parties, doctors in the hospital, the task force's medical team, and BNPB (the National Disaster Mitigation Agency) for the support, and all the people, who prayed for my recovery," Monardo noted in a statement, as conveyed by an expert of the task force Egy Massadiah here on Friday.

Monardo took the PCR test on Friday afternoon for which he received a negative result. He is a survivor and expressed readiness to donate convalescent plasma.

On January 23, Monardo announced that he had tested positive for COVID-19.

"Doni Monardo was infected with COVID-19 after the past week of being busy with handling the impact of the earthquake in West Sulawesi and flooding in South Kalimantan. I accompanied him during the visits," Massadiah stated at the time.

Monardo was isolated at a hospital in South Jakarta, and following an improvement in his condition, he was moved to a hotel for self-isolation.

During his self-isolation, Monardo continued to monitor the developments in handling both natural and non-natural disasters in the country.

"Some regions that he monitored intensively are West Sulawesi that was hit by earthquake and some regions hit by flood," Massadiah remarked.

Monardo also led an online meeting on the establishment of COVID-19 posts in villages and sub-districts on February 3, 2021, Massadiah stated.
