Jakarta (ANTARA) - During 2020, Gojek has provided a plethora of innovations and initiatives driven by its hygiene, health, and safety commitment (J3K) to help consumers adapt during the pandemic.

Consumers have confidently relied on Gojek to support their day-to-day mobility and productivity while staying safe.

Based on research findings by the Demographic Institute of the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Indonesia, (Lembaga Demografi Fakultas Ekonomi dan Bisnis Universitas Indonesia/LD FEB UI), 88 percent of users rated the GoRide and GoCar services as being safer, more hygienic, and more comfortable as compared to similar services or products.

"We are committed to providing various innovations that support productivity and reduce anxiety among consumers, who still need to travel during the pandemic. We have been adapting to the pandemic situation responsively and comprehensively for almost a year and will continue to do so in 2021," Chief Transport Officer of the Gojek Group Raditya Wibowo stated.

Entering the new year, the leading Southeast Asian on-demand platform introduces new innovations, including its scheduled travel feature and features that can be tailored to the users’ requirements, thereby enabling them to travel more efficiently, safely, and comfortably.

The new and improved features include:

1. Introducing a new business travel service solution in GoCorp

Since offices remain one of the most common destinations for its users, Gojek will roll out a business travel service solution called GoCorp. This service will make the consumers’ business trips easier and more cost-efficient.

2. Expanding carbon conscious commitment with GoGreener

Gojek will also continue to strengthen its commitment to conducting the company's operational activities in a sustainable and environmentally-conscious manner through the GoGreener initiative. Following several efforts undertaken in 2020, Gojek will expand its initiatives, including carbon offsetting, electric vehicle trials, and motor vehicle emission tests.

3. Providing new features in GoTransit

GoTransit is a solution for planning trips that allows customers to systematically select the mode of transportation directly through the Gojek application. After introducing them in 2020, Gojek will be upgrading its GoTransit features, including providing integrated route recommendations, comparison of prices for public transport modes, estimated total trip time, travel route comparison, and information regarding public transportation operational schedules.

4. Strengthening J3K commitment

Gojek will further bolster its J3K commitment by enhancing the J3K NyAman Zone as the new standard for online transportation pick-up points. In 2021, Gojek will be expanding and adding J3K NyAman Zone facilities at strategic locations in various cities in Indonesia.

5. Other new features and innovations

Wibowo highlighted that Gojek will also provide an array of other features and innovations to meet the requirements of its users, such as cashless parking and toll payments, saving addresses, and personalized transportation services.

Moreover, secretary general of the Indonesian Transportation Society Harya S. Dillon, Ph.D. lauded Gojek's commitment to adapting to the pandemic since last year and its plans for 2021.

Dillon highlighted Gojek’s success in becoming the society’s main choice of transportation during the pandemic, especially through its J3K initiative, which had met the consumers’ requirements to stay safe while travelling.

Furthermore, GoTransit is expected to help respond to the challenges related to public transportation modes that are often difficult for the public to access, as well as be an alternative mode of transportation that prioritizes the factors of safety, health, and comfort during a pandemic.

"I am optimistic that Gojek’s innovations would serve as an example for other transportation industry players to follow,” Dillon remarked.
