The state spending for January, 2021 represented 5.3 percent of the target of Rp2,750 trillion set in the state budget, she stated.
"From the standpoint of spending, the state budget serves as a fiscal instrument to accelerate (economic recovery). As reflected by spending, all (sectors) grew positively compared to January last year," she observed at an online press conference here on Tuesday.
Indrawati said Rp94.7 trillion of the total spending in January, 2021 comprised the central government's spending, which accounted for 4.8 percent of the target of Rp1,954.5 trillion. The spending comprised expenditure of Rp48 trillion by ministries/institutions and Rp46.6 trillion by non-ministerial institutions.
The spending by ministries and institutions reached 4.7 percent of the target of Rp1,032 trillion, while the spending by non-ministerial institutions was pegged at 5.1 percent of the target of Rp992.6 trillion.
"If we look at the ministries'/institutions' spending, the personnel expenditure was relatively the same or did not make much change. However, spending on goods and capital goods as well as social assistance rose sharply," the minister noted.
The spending by ministries/institutions comprised personnel expenditure of Rp12.6 trillion, or 4.7 percent of the target of Rp268 trillion, an increase of 0.8 percent compared to Rp12.5 trillion recorded a year earlier.
The spending on goods reached Rp3.5 trillion, or 1 percent of the target of Rp360.8 trillion, and grew 7.2 percent year-on-year compared to Rp3.3 trillion in January last year.
"The 7.2-percent increase was fueled by spending on the operation and maintenance of public facilities and infrastructure," Indrawati explained.
Meanwhile, the spending on capital goods reached Rp11.9 trillion, growing 539.4 percent compared to Rp1.9 trillion in January, 2020, and accounted for 4.8 percent of the 246.8-trillion target.
Capital spending increased significantly, particularly with the Ministry of Public Works and People's Housing spending Rp8.6 trillion in January, 2021, well above the realization of Rp1.6 trillion in the same month last year, the Finance Minister said. (INE)
