"In 2045, as we have developed into an advanced country or high-income nation, and one sector that we can be proud of is creative and digital economy," Brodjonegoro remarked during a webinar themed "Connecting Indonesia Discover What's Possible" here on Thursday.
During that time, Indonesia will not be known for its natural wealth or its huge market but rather for its strong creative and digital economy.
The minister stressed on innovation to be focused on less contact economy. All micro, small, and medium enterprises must be connected to the digital economy to clock faster growth.
"There is no choice left but for SMEs to be connected digitally," he affirmed.
In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic and digital transformation, people have learnt to run their activities through efficient means, with some of them not involving face-to-face contact.
Hence, people must apply information and communication technology to support hyperconnectivity with e-commerce and e-logistics that have become common in day-to-day life, Brodjonegoro stated. Related news: Govt encourages emergence of AI-based digital talent in Indonesia
