Beijing (ANTARA) - Indonesian Ambassador to China and Mongolia, Djauhari Oratmangun, received an award from e-commerce platform JD.com in Beijing on Friday in recognition of his efforts to support Indonesia-China transnational trade.

At the conferment ceremony, which coincided with the e-commerce platform’s 18th anniversary, JD.com's vice president for global corporate affairs, Larry Lee, said Ambassador Djauhari has consistently supported transnational trade between the two countries, particularly in promoting Indonesian products in China.

According to the company, the promotion and direct sales Djauhari conducted during a visit to its office some time ago yielded the highest number of transactions.

Following his visit, JD.com set up an Indonesian pavilion virtually to promote and sell typical Indonesian foods and drinks.

Indonesia is an important country for JD.com as several Indonesian foods are popular among its 500 million customers, Lee said.

JD. com is an online retail shop with the highest turnover in China. Its sales are dominated by food, drink, and beauty products.

"Hence, Indonesia has a chance to market two kinds of products (to China). May Indonesian foods and beverages become increasingly favorite among Chinese tourists and the world community," Djauhari remarked.
