Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk declared, Monday, that its business income increased by 0.80 percent to reach Rp2.76 trillion in the 2021 first quarter (Q1), from Rp2.73 trillion during the corresponding period last year.

Income from toll roads contributed Rp2.54 trillion to the state-owned toll road operator’s total business income, up 0.36 percent, from Rp2.53 trillion, along with the operation of new toll roads, PT Jasa Marga Corporate Secretary Reza Febriano noted in a written statement.

Meanwhile, income of other businesses grew by 6.23 percent to reach Rp215.60 billion, from Rp203 billion in the first quarter of 2020.

The company also recorded earnings before interest and tax (EBIT) at Rp1.93 trillion, a 1.74-percent increase, from Rp1.9 trillion in the first quarter of 2020.

"Amid the operation of new toll roads and the needs for financing to complete the construction of toll road projects, Jasa Marga managed to maintain its net interest in the first quarter of 2021 at Rp161.84 billion. Total assets of the company grew by 1.51 percent to reach Rp105.56 trillion as compared to the first quarter of 2020," he pointed out.

At the end of January 2021, Jasa Marga began to operate section 3A of the Bogor Ring Road (BORR) toll road, spanning 2.85 kilometers, to complete the sections 1 to 2B from South Sentul to the Yasmin intersection that had been in operation earlier, Febriano noted.

The BORR toll road has a total length of 13.3 kilometers, including the section 3B, connecting the Semplak intersection to Junction Salabenda, which spans two kilometers. The section 3B is scheduled for completion early in 2023.
