Jakarta (ANTARA) - The COVID-19 Emergency Hospital (RSDC) Wisma Atlet Kemayoran has provided treatment to 6,100 patients until Tuesday.

"Apart from the 6,100 patients under treatment, we have cured 20 patients, and they were already discharged," Head of Information at the Joint Defense Area I Command Marine Colonel Aris Mudian stated in Jakarta.

Mudian remarked that out of the total of 6,100 patients at the RSDC Wisma Atlet Kemayoran, 20 were sent home on Monday (July 12).

Those mildly symptomatic COVID-19 patients were treated at Tower 4, 5, 6, and 7. RSDC Wisma Atlet Kemayoran is able to accommodate 7,937 patients, and 1,837 beds are available for now.

During the period from March 23 to July 13, the RSDC Wisma Atlet Kemayoran treated some 114,777 patients of which 107,357 were discharged, 943 were referred to another hospital, and 377 died.

Meanwhile, a total of 7,826 patients were treated at RSD Wisma Atlet Pademangan, an increase with 326 new patients coming on Monday. Those patients were treated at Tower 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8.

On the contrary, the number of patients at RSDC Rusun Nagrak decreased. Authorities admitted to 141 patients being discharged today while the remaining 1,520 patients treated at Tower 1, 2, and 3.

According to covid19.go.id, a total of 40,427 new cases were confirmed nationally until today. Jakarta led with 14,619 new cases followed by its neighboring province, West Java, with 7,942 new cases.

To reduce the rising number of COVID-19 cases in Jakarta, the government had expedited mass vaccination services. Until Monday, some 5.5 million people in Jakarta had been vaccinated. Jakarta's government expects 7.5 million Jakartans to be vaccinated by the end of next month to achieve herd immunity.
