The circular regulates the requirements for inter-city passengers and urban trains as per the regional status with public activity restrictions (PPKM) levels 1 to 4.
Train passengers departing from and arriving at areas with Level 3 and Level 4 PPKM are required to present their vaccination card with at least the first dose taken and a certificate of negative RT-PCR test results, with samples taken at most two days (2 x 24 hours) before departure or a negative rapid antigen test result, with the sample taken maximum one day (1 x 24 hours) or at the station before departure, Director of Railway Traffic and Transportation Danto Restiawan stated in a press release, Wednesday.
"Meanwhile, travelers using intercity rail transportation from and to areas with Level 1 and Level 2 PPKM must bring the certificate of RT-PCR test or rapid antigen result with the same time limit requirement. Children under 12 years of age are temporarily restricted from traveling," the director remarked.
Restiawan explained that travelers, with specific health conditions, who cannot take vaccination, were exempted from mandatorily presenting the vaccination card, and to this end, they can bring a letter of reference from their specialist doctor.
In addition, passengers of commuter trains within agglomeration areas are not required to show a vaccine card or a negative result of RT-PCR or rapid antigen test.
