Jakarta (ANTARA) - Domestic travelers to red zone areas enforcing the level three and four restrictions of people's movement (PPKM) must present vaccine cards showing receipt of at least one jab. This information was outlined in the latest circular of Indonesia's Task Force for COVID-19 Handling: SE No 16 of 2021.

The circular was issued since the COVID-19 case spike had continued, and several people did not implement strict health protocols, Prof. Wiku Adisasmito noted in a statement here on Tuesday.

The travel requirements, based on the Task Force's circular, is effective for an indefinite period of time, starting from July 26, 2021

It will be evaluated further based on latest developments on the field or the evaluation results from the relevant ministries and institutions.

This latest regulation also aligns with Minister of Home Affairs' Instruction No. 24, 25, and 26 of 2021 on the PPKM categories: Levels 1, 2, 3, and 4.

For the PPKM level 3 and 4 categories, domestic travelers boarding flights are required to present vaccine cards for the first dose and negative results of the RT-PCR test taken within at most two days (48 hours) prior to departure.

Travelers using modes of land or sea transportation, including trains or private cars, are necessitated to present vaccine cards of the first dose at least and negative results of RT-PCR test taken two days prior to departure or negative results of rapid antigen tests taken at most one day (24 hours) prior to departure.

Airplane travelers to or from regions falling under the PPKM Level 2 and Level 1 categories are required to present negative results of RT-PCR or rapid antigen tests taken within a maximum of two days prior to departure.

Travelers using private or public modes of land and sea transportation, including trains, must present negative results of the RT-PCR test taken two days prior to departure or negative results of rapid antigen tests taken a day prior to departure.

Those undertaking routine trips using means of private or public transportation within a city are only required to show STRP, or a letter of travel statement.

Moreover, travelers under the age of 12 are temporarily restricted from traveling.
