This is a form of the TNI chief's care for the entire Indonesian territory by distributing oxygen concentrator assistance.

Chief of the National Defense Forces (TNI), Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto, has donated 100 oxygen concentrators to North Sumatra province to assist the handling of COVID-19 patients.

The aid arrived at the Soewondo Airbase in Medan aboard an A-1319 Hercules transport plane belonging to the Indonesian Air Force (TNI AU) on Tuesday.



"I represent the TNI chief to hand over 100 oxygen concentrators to North Sumatra province. Not only North Sumatra, but also West Sumatra has also received the assistance," Chief of Staff of the Bukit Barisan Regional Military Command, Brigadier General Didiet Pramudito, said.

He said the aid exemplifies TNI's concern for COVID-19 patients and is aimed at supporting the government's efforts to handle COVID-19 cases in the country.



"This is a form of the TNI chief's care for the entire Indonesian territory by distributing oxygen concentrator assistance," he remarked.



Pramudito expressed the hope that the aid would support COVID-19 handling at all referral hospitals in North Sumatra.



"May it at least help resolve oxygen shortage. We hope the next will be better," he added.



He said the 100 oxygen concentrators will be distributed among 32 districts and cities in North Sumatra.



"The assistance of 100 oxygen concentrators for Medan has arrived overnight. The remaining 100 oxygen concentrators will be distributed among hospitals in 32 districts and cites as well as several hospitals other than those managed by the Medan city government," North Sumatra governor's expert staff, Agus Tri Priono, said.
