Jakarta (ANTARA) - Telkomsel, a subsidiary of state-run communications firm PT Telkom Indonesia, unveiled internet of things (IoT) services called Energy Visibility Solution (Envion) to automate and optimize the company's energy management system.

"We present Telkomsel IoT Envion as the latest future digital solution for companies dependent on electricity supply for energy sources. Telkomsel IoT Envion is complemented with advance feature that automatically tracks energy consumption," Telkomsel Primary Director Hendri Mulya Syam noted in a press statement quoted here on Friday.

IoT Envion can be applied in various industries comprising telecommunications, industrial parks, manufacturing, tower providers, banking, financial, retail and data centers since they are exceedingly dependent on electricity supply.

Such sectors will incur losses in the event of energy supply issues, such as a malfunctioning backup battery and power theft.

For the early phase, Telkomsel IoT Envion will be used to support Telkominfra, a subsidiary engaged in infrastructure service, to optimize digital technology and connectivity access for accurate energy usage.

Telkominfra uses Telkomsel IoT Envion to support the operation of Power Solution and Infra Network Service projects.

Telkomsel utilizes battery monitoring system (BMS) for the Telkominfra Data Center since it exceedingly relies on the availability and stability of electricity.

BMS will display the condition of Telkominfra's Data Center battery backup in real-time and can provide report based on accurate data analysis.

Syam asserted that this collaboration is a form of Telkomsel's role as digital connectivity enabler to continue to innovate, so that it could provide more solutions to cater to business-to-business (B2B) needs.

He added that Telkomsel will offer solutions, especially for IoT-based service, that are utilized for cross-sectoral industrial advancement to bolster Indonesia's digital ecosystem that is inclusive and sustainable.

In the same statement, Primary Director of Telkominfra Bastian Sembiring declared that the collaboration is beneficial for them in terms of technology and energy utilization.
