Anytime, taxpayers can access tax services without having to come to the tax office.Jakarta (ANTARA) - Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati has said she believes that technology-based services will help taxpayers across Indonesia.
"Anytime, taxpayers can access tax services without having to come to the tax office,” she said at the online IT Summit 2021organized by the Taxation Directorate General (DJP), originating from Jakarta on Wednesday.
She said the facility is very important to give taxpayers the certainty to fulfill their taxation obligation.
Technology-based services are one of the Taxation Directorate General’s innovations to avoid face-to-face contact as taxpayers fulfill their tax obligations amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the minister noted.
"Even if they have to meet physically, the meeting will follow good governance,” she added.
Indrawati said she was pleased with the fact that the Taxation Directorate General has continued to improve and sharpen its analysis in exploring tax potential using digital technology.
All real-time data pertaining to different transactions, particularly electronic transactions, can be accessed, she informed.
She then reminded the Taxation Directorate General of the need to have expertise, wisdom, and ability to see the potential for legitimate taxes.
"As such, (the Taxation Directorate General) can continue to explore tax potentials, while at the same time, keeping the privacy of taxpayers to improve public confidence in the Taxation Directorate General,” she remarked.
