"In the extension of the level 3 PPKM this time, limited face-to-face learning and online learning can be re-implemented," he said in the Governor Decree of Jakarta Province No. 1026 of 2021 concerning the Enactment of Level 3 PPKM, a copy of which was received here on Wednesday.
The provisions are based on the Joint Decree of the Minister of Education and Culture, Minister of Religious Affairs, Minister of Health, and Minister of Home Affairs, he informed.
As per the decree signed by Baswedan on August 23, 2021, kindergartens, elementary, junior high, and high schools and their equivalent can conduct face-to-face learning on a limited basis, with attendance capped at 50 percent.
Baswedan explained that the decree refers to the Ministerial Joint Decree Number 03/KB/2021, No. 384 of 2021, No. HK.01.08/MENKES/4242/2021, No. 440-717 of 2021 on guidance on the implementation of school learning during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Meanwhile, for special schools (schools for children and teenagers with special needs) and their equivalent, the learning process can be done face-to-face, with a maximum capacity of 62 percent to 100 percent, by maintaining a physical distance of at least 1.5 meters and a cap of 5 learners per class, the governor said.
In pre-schools, face-to-face learning can be carried out with a maximum of 33 percent students in attendance. Pre-schools will have to apply distancing of 1.5 meter and a limit of 5 learners per class, as per the decree.
The Jakarta governor's decree came into effect on August 24, 2021.
Meanwhile, Jakarta's Education Office said that it has held a meeting and plans to conduct limited face-to-face learning on August 30, 2021 at 610 schools ranging from elementary, junior high, high school, and vocational schools throughout Jakarta.
