Bekasi (ANTARA) - The Bekasi government, West Java, has extended the level 3 community activities restriction (PPKM) policy from August 30 to September 6, 2021.

"We are following the policy of the central government regarding extension of the level 3 community activities restriction policy for Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, and Bekasi," Bekasi Mayor Rahmat Effendi said here on Wednesday.

Effendi noted that the policy was stipulated in Circular Letter Number 443.1/1319/SET.COVID-19 on Extension of PPKM Level 3 against COVID-19 in Bekasi.

Effendi remarked that some rules concerning Bekasi's PPKM policy were implemented in order to optimize COVID-19 handling and controlling mechanisms during the extended period.
