Jakarta (ANTARA) - The national public holidays and collective leave days for 2023 have been decided based on the situation and development of the COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia, the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Muhadjir Effendy said.

"One thing that has been taken into consideration has been the state of the COVID-19 pandemic," he said here on Tuesday after chairing a ministerial coordination meeting on the 2023 public holidays and collective leaves.

After considering various aspects related to the development of the COVID-19 pandemic, he informed that the determination of the joint decree was carried out and it was signed by the ministers of religious affairs, manpower, and administrative and bureaucratic reform (PANRB).

The designation of the national public holidays and collective leave days is expected to serve as a guideline for the community, the economic sector, and the private sector in carrying out their activities, Effendy added.

"In addition, it can be a reference for ministries and government agencies for determining the planning of work programs," he said.
