"One thing that has been taken into consideration has been the state of the COVID-19 pandemic," he said here on Tuesday after chairing a ministerial coordination meeting on the 2023 public holidays and collective leaves.
After considering various aspects related to the development of the COVID-19 pandemic, he informed that the determination of the joint decree was carried out and it was signed by the ministers of religious affairs, manpower, and administrative and bureaucratic reform (PANRB).
The designation of the national public holidays and collective leave days is expected to serve as a guideline for the community, the economic sector, and the private sector in carrying out their activities, Effendy added.
"In addition, it can be a reference for ministries and government agencies for determining the planning of work programs," he said.

Regarding the development of the COVID-19 pandemic in the country, which is starting to come under control, he asked the community to continue implementing the health protocols and a clean and healthy lifestyle.
"Continue to strengthen health protocols and a clean and healthy lifestyle," the minister stressed.
The Indonesian government has designated 16 national public holidays and 8 collective leave days for 2023. Thus, the total number of holidays will be 24.
The Joint Ministerial Decision of Religious Affairs Minister, Manpower Minister, and Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Minister No. 1066 of 2022, No. 3 of 2022, and No. 3 of 2022 will serve as the legal basis for the public holidays and collective leave days in 2023.
The first case of COVID-19 in Indonesia was confirmed in March 2020. According to data from the COVID-19 Handling Task Force, as of October 11, 2022, the nation has recorded 6,448,220 COVID-19 cases, 6,273,593 recoveries, and 158,235 deaths.
