"The target is hopefully, next month, it can be 100 percent. But I hope it can reach the 100-percent rate by the end of this month," he remarked here on Thursday.
He said he hoped that the vaccine supply from the central government will continue to come so that his administration can immediately vaccinate students by holding mass vaccinations and administering vaccinations at schools.
According to Cahyadi, vaccinations have been carried out in several schools in the city of Surabaya. However, due to the limited stock of vaccines available, not all schools have been able to organize vaccination programs, he said.
"Vaccines are divided by region. Indeed, it cannot reach all (schools). If the vaccine is available later, it will focus on students," he added.

Chairman of Commission D for Welfare and Education at the Surabaya Regional People's Representative Council (DPRD), Khusnul Khotimah, had previously emphasized the importance of accelerating vaccination among students before the implementation of face-to-face learning (PTM) in Surabaya.
Student vaccinations in Surabaya are yet to be completed, she noted and called for the acceleration of vaccinations for children, especially those aged 12 years and above.
"Indeed, some schools have had their students vaccinated, but there are still many public and private schools that are still waiting for vaccinations," she informed.
To stem COVID-19 transmission, the Indonesian government launched the national vaccination program on January 13, 2021.
Students aged 12 to 17 years were allowed to receive vaccinations under the program after the Health Ministry earlier issued Circular Letter Number HK.02.02/I/1727/2021 on the third phase of vaccination for vulnerable people and the general public, as well as vaccinations for children in the age group of 12 to 17 years.
