Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has urged all parties to remain disciplined in following the health protocols and continue to be productive in the midst of a decline in COVID-19 cases.

He made the statement while receiving the Indonesian Film Festival Committee (FFI) at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Monday.

"Actually, the development of this declining pandemic requires discipline and productivity. Following protocol but being able to be productive with more quality work. Now, these two matters are the President's emphasis," head of the judging division of the 2021 Indonesian Film Festival (FFI), Garin Nugroho, said after meeting with the President.

If community discipline and productivity go hand in hand, the post-pandemic revival will go well, he remarked.

"That's a message from the President. The mall will open tomorrow for example, it demands a national character, namely discipline and jointly responding to the pandemic," he added.

The President viewed the development of the national film industry positively in the midst of the pandemic, Nugroho said.

The President believes that people in the film industry have shown their ability to be adaptive in responding to the challenges of the pandemic, he added.

Garin also revealed that the head of state said he would be pleased to attend the peak night event for the 2021 FFI award, which is planned to be held on November 10, 2021 to coincide with Heroes' Day.
