The police also do not find any attempt to retrieve data from the eHAC serverJakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesian Health Ministry's Data and Information Center Head Anas Maruf confirmed that investigation by the Police Headquarters' Cyber Team did not find any data leak of users of the "Health Alert Card" (eHAC) electronic application.
"The police also do not find any attempt to retrieve data from the eHAC server," Maruf noted in a written statement received here on Thursday.
Maruf remarked that the Cyber Police Team has officially stopped investigation into the alleged eHAC data leak after finding no proof of retrieval of the eHAC users' personal data.
"The police have officially stopped the investigation into the alleged data leak case in the eHAC system application," he noted.
Maruf ensured that public data in the eHAC system did not leak, and it was still protected.
"People do not need to worry as the eHAC user data remain safe, and they are now integrated into the PeduliLindungi surveillance application," he affirmed.
Earlier, information about the alleged eHAC data leak was reported by the VPN Mentor. The report has been verified by the National Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN) and received by the Health Ministry on August 23, 2021.
The ministry then conducted a search and immediately took corrective action on the eHAC system.
The ministry coordinates with the Ministry of Communication and Information (Kominfo), BSSN, and Directorate of Cyber Crimes of National Police Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim) to conduct investigations as part of mitigating cyber security risks.
Maruf appealed to the public to use the PeduliLindungi application. The platform is stored in a national data center, and it has been handled by BSSN, specifically the IT Security Assessment.
