Jakarta (ANTARA) - Bank Mandiri has announced the Mandiri Young Entrepreneurs (WMM) 2021 competition to support the growth and development of young Indonesian entrepreneurs.

WMM 2021 will not have a peak event or awards event this year; instead, it will be based on the capital league concept, where participants will compete for capital rewards of up to Rp2.5 billion, Bank Mandiri institutional relations director Rohan Hafas said.

"Capital League is the participants matching over investors' wishes whether or not they should invest and deposit their capital in the company or business they create," Hafas explained at an online press conference here on Monday.

WMM 2021 will be divided into two categories: business proposals and challenges, he informed. The number of participants will be limited to 60, he said adding, in order to be eligible for the competition, participants should have been running a business for at least four years and have a turnover of Rp1 billion.

WMM 2021 also allows winners of previous years to rejoin the competition and the entire series of activities will be carried out in the format of a variety show, he added.

"The competition event is filled with non-boring (activities), we create the reality show in a digital format that will be broadcast on YouTube," he said.

Participants at WMM 2021 will compete under five business categories — social, technological, creative, service industry and trade, and culinary, Aturridha said. For each category, only one winner will be selected, he added.
