Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Jakarta Provincial Government is collaborating with an e-commerce platform to market products of local Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) through a program called "Jumat Beli Lokal," or On Friday, Buying Local Products.

The collaboration using the Jakpreneur platform was initiated to encourage the growth and development of independent entrepreneurs in DKI Jakarta.

“The Jumat Beli Lokal Program is an online exhibition from MSME products in Jakarta held every Friday through digital shopping platforms and the social media. I hope that this program would drive the economy and build a sense of pride in locally made products. I really laud all partners, who participate in this program," Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan stated on Saturday.

Through the Jumat Beli Lokal Program, products from MSMEs will be able to get more opportunities and attention to be marketed more optimally.

There are many categories presented for products marketed through this program, ranging from food and beverage products, fashion and handicrafts, household products, and health products. Later, every week, the products of various categories will be marketed alternately.

“The Jakarta administration had earlier conducted training and coaching class for MSMEs actors in Jakarta, as well as for Jakpreneur participants. Hopefully, this program would offer public access to shop MSMEs products,” Assistant for Economics and Finance at the Jakarta Secretariat, Sri Haryati explained.

Collaboration between the Jakarta government and the private sector, such as for e-commerce and other digital access, aligns with the Bangga Buatan Indonesia (Proud of Indonesian-made products) movement.

By collaborating to support the marketing of domestic products made by MSMEs, stakeholders have contributed to advancing the country's economy for the betterment of the people.

In addition to having pride in local products, Indonesian products can compete optimally in the global market.
