An announcement to this effect was made at the Kotagede Sub-district Hall on Wednesday (September 29, 2021) at an event that was attended by Deputy Mayor of Yogyakarta Heroe Poerwadi, village heads, neighborhood and community unit (RT/RW) managements, and sub-district vaccination volunteers.
"Completing the vaccination means that residents have received at least the first dose, and it does not mean that the vaccination program has stopped," Taufiq said.
The vaccination program would continue to be pushed, especially for residents who have been previously exposed to COVID-19, or residents who have comorbidities, he added.
“There are still around 10 percent of residents who have not met the requirements for vaccination. We will finish this in October,” he said.
He also revealed that the total number of targeted recipients in Kotagede stood at around 28 thousand people.
Residents who have been exposed to COVID-19 must wait three months after recovery to get vaccinated, while residents with comorbidities are already under supervision from the public health center in Kotagede, he said.
“The most common comorbidity found was high blood pressure. Residents who suffer from hypertension are under the supervision of the public health center. They are given medications, and if their health condition allows, vaccination can be done,” he said.

Kotagede residents can access vaccination services at the local sub-district office every Wednesday, other than the public health center that provides vaccinations every day. “So, people can choose whether they want to be vaccinated at the sub-district office or at the public health center," he stated.
He also informed that Kotagede residents who live outside the city usually participate in vaccinations at their respective places of residence. It is estimated that there are three thousand Kotagede residents living outside the city.
Poerwadi said that the vaccination rate in the 14 sub-districts in Yogyakarta city is quite high. On average, they have covered more than 90 percent of their populations, he added.
"The average is more than 90 percent. Some are 96 percent, some are 98 percent, but there is still one sub-district with 74 percent achievement, which is Umbulharjo, because the area is the largest," he remarked.
The Yogyakarta city government expects to complete the COVID-19 vaccination program in less than one week.
"Everything has been completed for the first dose of vaccination for residents who meet the vaccination requirements. Not only for residents with Yogyakarta ID cards, but also for residents who live in Yogyakarta," he said.
Several sub-districts are expected to follow Kotagede, including Pakualaman, Gondokusuman, and Jetis, he added.
Poerwadi said he expected the second dose of vaccination to be completed in November this year. “In some places, the second dose of vaccination has also been done. For example, the XT-Square Vaccination Center is currently serving the second dose of vaccination,” he added.
