Military chief awards Bali Governor for PPKM success

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Bali Governor I Wayan Koster received a token of appreciation from Chief of the National Defense Forces (TNI) Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto for successfully making the province and district/city the best in implementing micro public activity restrictions (PPKM).

The conferment ceremony took place at the I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airbase in Denpasar, Bali, on Monday.

Bali is viewed as having the most effective strategy and role in implementing COVID-19 control management and applying micro PPKM.

Tjahjanto remarked that the achievement is a manifestation of the leadership of Governor Koster and the Bali provincial leadership communication forum (Forkopimda) in implementing the measures against the COVID-19 spread.

“Without good leadership and field management strategy, as well as communication, coordination, and collaboration between Forkopimdo and the public, the achievement might not be reached,” Tjahjanto noted in a press statement.

The TNI chief expressed pride over Bali Province’s success in implementing micro PPKM. Bali’s success in curbing the number of COVID-19 cases can be emulated by other provinces to handle COVID-19.

He further expressed gratitude to the Bali governor and his ranks for the success.

He expressed hope that the token of appreciation will motivate the provincial government to deliver another success in performing their duties in future.

"However, remember that the pandemic is not yet over. We must not be inattentive but must stay disciplined to adhere to health protocols, increase responses to 3T (tracing, testing and treatment), and accomplish the national vaccination program," he remarked.
