Out of the total 9,793 patients contracting the virus, 9,405 have made a full recovery, thus the recovery rate has reached almost 99.80 percent, the task force's spokesperson, Boy Yandra, said in Sungailiat, Bangka district, on Saturday.
The recovered patients are spread across sub-districts: 3,763 patients have recovered in Sungailiat, 485 in Riau Silip, and 301 in Puding Besar, he informed.
The recovered patients also include 1,786 people from Pemali sub-district, 884 people from Merawang sub-district, 705 people from West Mendo Barat sub-district, 1,328 people from Belinyu sub-district, and 153 people from Bakam sub-district, he added.
Meanwhile, 360 patients have succumbed to the deadly virus, he informed.

There is a possibility of a further increase in the COVID-19 recovery rate, given the number of patients who are still in the recovery process, he said.
The coronavirus spread in Bangka district has dropped to a level that is considered safe, Yandra said. The recovery rate is also quite significant, he noted adding, some sub-districts have reported no fresh cases.
Despite the good tidings, the public must remain vigilant and continue to follow the health protocols, he said and urged all those who have not been inoculated to immediately get the COVID-19 shot.
In terms of vaccination coverage, out of the 255,161 targeted residents in Bangka district, 56.43 percent or 143,982 residents have received the first dose, while 37.68 percent or 96,146 residents have received both doses of the COVID-19 vaccine.
The Bangka district government is aiming to inoculate 70 percent of its residents by the end of 2021, Yandra informed.
The goal is in line with that of the central government, which is seeking to vaccinate 80 percent of the nation's population by the end of 2021. The initial target had been set at 70 percent.
