Alhamdulillah (Thank God), the presence of the four task forces has lowered the number of new cases and deaths
Pangkalpinang, Bangka Belitung (ANTARA) - The Bangka Belitung Islands Provincial COVID-19 Response Task Force announced 257 more patients recovered from the coronavirus in the past 24 hours, taking the province’s recovery tally to 47,055.

"In the past month (ending Sept 18, 2021), the number of patients (recovering from the infection) rose by 5,191,” secretary of the Provincial COVID-19 Response Task Force Mikron Antariksa said in the Bangka Belitung provincial capital of Pangkalpinang on Sunday.

He said 73 of the 257 patients who recovered from COVID-19 live in Pangkalpinang City, 36 in Bangka District, 17 in West Bangka District, 79 in Central Bangka District, 16 in South Bangka District, 12 Belitung District and 24 in East Belitung District.

The task force also recoded 110 COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, including 14 in Pangkalpinang, 19 Bangka, 11 in West Bangka, 19 in Central Bangka, 7 in South Bangka, 13 in Belitung and 27 in East Belitung.

Meanwhile, six more patients died of the COVID-19 comprising two in South Bangka, and one in Pangkalpinang, Central Bangka, West Bangka, and Belitung each.

"We continue to encourage COVID-19 patients particularly those with comorbidities to self isolate at isolation centers and hospitals in order to curb the death rate," he said.

He said the provincial government has set up four task forces, namely vaccine task force, isolation center task force, oxygen task force and tracing task force to break the chain of coronavirus spread.

"Alhamdulillah (Thank God), the presence of the four task forces has lowered the number of new cases and deaths,” he said.
