I also proposed to the police chief general to showcase it at COP 26Jakarta (ANTARA) - The National Control Analysis System (ASAP) application developed by the National Police, which functions to reduce the risk of forest/land fires, was presented at the 26th COP Climate Change Conference in Glasgow, Scotland.
The National Police has sent a team to Glasgow to showcase the digital ASAP, which was initiated by police chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo.
"The application has been displayed, but let's wait for more information because the team has not returned home yet," the public relations head of the police's Public Information Bureau, Brig. Gen. Rusdi Hartono, confirmed here on Tuesday.
The team sent to the COP 26 United Nations Climate Change Conference in Glasgow is being led by Vice Chief General Commissioner Gen Gatot Eddy Pramono, Hartono informed.

The presence of the National Police's team at COP 26 is aimed at introducing the National Digital ASAP, an application developed with the support of ministries/institutions to combat forest and land fires in Indonesia, he said.
The ASAP is a tool for controlling and preventing forest and land fires at the district/city, provincial, and even central levels, he added.
According to Hartono, the presence ASAP is expected to help tackle incidents of forest fires even better.

Other than helping overcome forest fires right on target, the effectiveness of law enforcement regarding forest and land fires can be increased with the help of the system, he said.
"I hope it can help law enforcement against perpetrators who burn forest and land," he affirmed.
The National Control and Analysis Digital System to help cope with forest and land fires was launched by the National Police on September 15, 2021. The launch was attended by the Minister of Environment and Forestry, Siti Nurbaya.

At the time, Nurbaya had proposed the system be showcased at the 26th COP Climate Conference in Glasgow.

The National Control Analysis System is important because it is a permanent solution for institutions for integrating and synchronizing the applications of forest management in several regions as well as other ministries/institutions, she explained.
Minister Nurbaya said she believes that ASAP is proof that Indonesia can overcome forest fire problems properly.
