It (COVID-19 virus) lives in everybody. If the person is immune, the virus would not be in their body, it would not be able to grow
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesians can avert the COVID-19 third wave by boosting their body immunity, National Commission on Post-Immunization Accidents' (Komnas KIPI) Head Hinky Hindra Irawan Satari stated at a webinar here on Thursday.

"It (the COVID-19 virus) lives in everybody. If the person is immune, the virus would not be in their body, and it would not be able to grow," he elaborated.

To this end, for the next two months, if people remain committed to maintaining a healthy body, then the COVID-19 virus infection chart will show a downward movement in January 2022, he remarked.

"We should maintain this course (improving body immunity)," he affirmed.

Satari highlighted seven methods to improve body immunity for both adults and children.

Some of these methods are leading a healthy and clean lifestyle, getting the COVID-19 vaccination, consuming nutritious food, and improving the health of our digestive tract through food clean, he noted.

Moreover, people should get adequate sleep, reduce stress levels, actively exercise, sunbathe, and engage in an outdoor activity as long as it is not crowded, he added.

Satari also provided a few tips on choosing and consuming healthy foods, such as regularly eating fruits and vegetables, consuming eight to 10 glasses of water per day, eating healthy snacks, and limiting intake of processed food.

In addition, he suggested that people should attempt to cook their own food in order to ensure the health and cleanliness aspects.

He also urged people to avoid direct contact with those with compromised body immunity against COVID-19, including by always wearing a mask and maintaining distance.

"Thus, avoid contact with other people unless we believe that they are immune. Avoid coming close to people whom we do not know regarding the status of their immunity against COVID-19," Satari elaborated.
