We are optimistic that this cooperation would become the stepping stone for Indonesia that is in the middle of rolling out electric vehicles.Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Pos Indonesia has collaborated with a battery swap enterprise to present Smoot electric motorcycles that will become the mode of transportation for female couriers of Rose Oranger during their activities as Pos courier partners.
"We are optimistic that this cooperation would become the stepping stone for Indonesia that is in the middle of rolling out electric vehicles," state-run postal service Pos Indonesia's Primary Director, Faizal R. Djoemadi, noted during a press conference on Wednesday.
"This is especially since the president has planned to build a battery manufacturing unit in Indonesia," he affirmed.
He expects Indonesia to immediately adopt various electric-powered vehicles since they are more environmentally friendly, recyclable, and sustainable.
Echoing that sentiment, PT Pos Indonesia's Courier and Logistic Business Director, Siti Choiriana, stated that the collaboration with Smoot could be the right step forward for Rose Oranger to support clean zero emissions.

"PT Pos Indonesia is also committed to developing the green economy as well as supporting the government program to reducing carbon emissions in Indonesia," she expounded.
Djoemadi noted that Rose Oranger harbored a vision to empower Indonesian women, especially those terminated from work due to COVID-19.
He remarked that 623,407 women workers in Indonesia were affected.
"The presence of Rose Oranger is expected to proffer a sense of independence for Indonesian women. They could make their own living without relying on their husbands," he affirmed.
He also believed that Rose Oranger was a necessity since 52 percent of the women online entrepreneurs were more comfortable being served by couriers of the same gender.

The only requirement for becoming a Rose Oranger partner was to hold a motorcycle license. Prospective partners can join to become a Rose Oranger partner at post offices spread across 4,800 locations in Indonesia.
The Rose Oranger partner will then be facilitated to own a Smoot electric motorcycle through a credit facility.
The Smoot electric motorcycle works on the Swap Energy battery swap technology.

Users could access hundreds of battery swapping stations, or SWAPPoin, at various strategic locations in Greater Jakarta (Jakarta, Bogo, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi) to immediately swap their battery in just nine seconds.
In addition, this electric vehicle is integrated within one SWAP application, so that riders can monitor their latest battery status and Smoot motorcycle locations.
This motorcycle is also complemented with an anti-theft system that could be accessed through the application when the vehicle is stolen or lost.
