Jakarta (ANTARA) - Building an effective communication pattern between the authority and the people is crucial to encourage the citizens' active role in supporting development in several sectors, Communication and Informatics Minister Johnny G. Plate stated.

Plate highlighted regional cooperation between Indonesia and Malaysia that could become more successful and garner support of the people from various sectors, such as property, transportation, and mass media.

"Bilateral regional cooperation between governments, such as the one implemented between Indonesia and Malaysia, should be conveyed to the people accurately, so that citizens in these countries could partake in it," he noted here on Thursday.

Through emphasis on cooperation, citizens could actively participate in supporting development in regions, such as in ASEAN.
