Diversity should become a blessing, differences should become wisdom, and unity should become an asset for anyone living in this nation.Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Religious University National Scout Camping XV should strengthen understanding of moderate religious values in participants, religious education director general at the Ministry of Religious Affairs, M. Ali Ramdhani, has said.
"It should fortify religious understanding and an attitude that is inclusive, tolerant, and peaceful amid the nation's diversity, within the framework of the Republic of Indonesia," he observed in Palembang, South Sumatra, on Thursday.
Around 1,176 people comprising 444 offline participants, 558 online participants, 116 mentors, and 58 contingent leaders are participating in the camp, he noted.

He underscored the importance of maintaining unity and said that participants should become agents promoting moderate values after the camp is over.
"Diversity should become a blessing, differences should become wisdom, and unity should become an asset for anyone living in this nation," he remarked.
The camp will cover a number of activities such as visits to places of worship such as the Catholic Church Queen of Rosario Maria, Vihara Padmajaya, Tek Kim Tong Temple, Pura Agung Sriwijaya, and several Islamic schools in Palembang.
"We hope that this activity would strengthen the brotherhood among Muslims (ukhuwah Islamiyah), the brotherhood among countrymen (ukhuwah wathaniyah), and brotherhood among humans (ukhuwah basyariyah)," Ramdhani affirmed.
In addition to moderate values, the participants will also be taught the value of caring for the environment and their health through activities such as planting 5 thousand trees, scattering 10 thousand fish seeds, and vaccinating 5 thousand people, he noted.
The camping event is being held from November 9–14, 2021. It is being monitored by the Ministry of Religious Affairs through an application to reduce the risk of COVID-19 spread.
