Through this competition, we want to encourage journalists to continue to edify the public regarding BPJAMSOSTEK's services and benefits through a variety of published articlesJakarta (ANTARA) - The Workers Social Security Agency (BPJAMSOSTEK) has announced a writing competition for print and online media journalists to mark the agency's 44th anniversary on December 5 this year.
In a press statement received here on Wednesday, the agency said the theme for this year's competition, 'BPJAMSOSTEK Adaptive and Solutive for Indonesian Workers', is a form of appreciation for journalists edifying the public about the importance of workers' social security.
Arising from this primary theme, there are three sub-themes that participants can choose from, the agency said.
One sub-theme is 'The Expansion of Workers Social Security Membership for Informal Workers', which will also be the primary focus of BPJAMSOSTEK in 2022, the agency informed.
Another sub-theme is 'The Benefit of Social Security from BPJAMSOSTEK and Digitalization of BPJAMSOSTEK Services', it added.
BPJAMSOSTEK said it will offer a total reward of Rp83.5 million to winners under three categories: Online Media Hard News, Online Media Feature, and Print Media Feature.
To participate in the competition, journalists need to register and send the articles they have published between January 1 and December 5, 2021 on the link http://bit.ly/BPJAMSOSTEKjournalistswritingcompetition.
Participants can send more than one entry for the competition. All entries should be original works that do not contain discriminatory sentiments based on ethnicity, religion, race, and inter-group relations, it added.
"Through this competition, we want to encourage journalists to continue to edify the public regarding BPJAMSOSTEK's services and benefits through a variety of published articles," BPJAMSOSTEK's official Dian Agung Senoaji said.
There are still many workers, specifically those working in the informal sector or non-wage earners, who have not yet understood the importance of workers' social security protection, Senoaji informed.
In addition, head of BPJAMSOSTEK's Jakarta Pluit branch Husaini, lauded the competition and highlighted the importance of mass media for those working in the field.
"We hope that, through this competition, there will be new ideas and perspectives from journalists regarding the social security protection program and could introduce them to workers," Husaini affirmed.
