That is right, we have 30 or 33 beds for COVID-19 patients.
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Kebayoran Lama Regional General Hospital in South Jakarta, has readied additional beds as a precautionary measure against a likely spike in COVID-19 cases before and after the Christmas and New Year's 2022 holidays.

"That is right, we have 30 or 33 beds for COVID-19 patients. Hence, we have COVID-19 and non-COVID-19 zones," President Director of the Kebayoran Lama Hospital Yenny Nariswari stated here on Friday.

Nariswari echoed her administration's readiness to handle the risk of a spike in COVID-19 cases.

Nariswari noted that the Kebayoran Lama Hospital will also remodel its services to once again serve as a special COVID-19 hospital in the event of a case spike.

She also admitted that currently, medical personnel at the hospital were prepared to face a surge in cases.

"When our (COVID-19 cases) were high, we were assisted by volunteers, but for now, the volunteers have been called back because the rate is declining," she noted.

Currently, the number of COVID-19 inpatients at the Kebayoran Lama Hospital is only four or less than that a few months ago.

"At the end of August, it started to go down a bit. There are also outpatients, and we refer them (to other hospitals). We treat about three or four, but there are also suspects with comorbidities that cannot be treated here. (They are the ones) whom we refer," she remarked.

The central government has imposed the third level of community activity restrictions (PPKM) in all regions of Indonesia from December 24, 2021 to January 2, 2022.

The policy was outlined in Home Affairs Ministry's Instruction Number 62 of 2021.

This step aims to limit community activities during the Christmas and New Year holidays so as to prevent a spike in COVID-19 cases.
